Sarah Jones, Accused of Sexually Abusing Student



Sarah Jones, a high school teacher and a one-time captain of the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals cheerleaders (the Ben-Gals, if you will) has been accused of sex abuse. She and her mother, a middle school principal who allegedly covered up the crime, both entered pleas of not guilty during their arraignment on Monday. Sarah Jones has been charged with sexual abuse of a student, on top of



unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities.  Jones' mother, Cheryl, is accused of tampering with evidence in connection with her daughter's case. Cheryl is currently suspended from her job. Both Sarah and Cheryl were arrested following a grand jury investigation. At the courthouse Monday the pair was joined by a dozen supporters, including the family of the alleged victim, according to ABC News affiliate WCPO. Though the alleged victim's family supports Sarah Jones, Jefferson County Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Sarah Farmer


said the case would continue.” The commonwealth feels we have sufficient proof to go forward," Farmer said. At the arraignment, Judge Patricia Summe ordered Sarah and Cheryl Jones to avoid contact with the alleged victim and to disable text messaging. Forensic evidence for the case, taking place in Kenton County, Ky., was collected by taking Sarah Jones' computers and phone records. The trial date for both Sarah and Cheryl Jones was set for June 27.

JOHN EDWARDS’ lawyers have won a key victory in crucial pretrial hearings ahead of his blockbuster federal trial for conspiracy and misuse of Presidential campaign funds. 


Federal U.S. District Court Judge Catherine C. Eagles ruled Team Edwards can now question former Edwards’s loyalist Andrew Young and his wife Cheri about two state court orders finding them in contempt of court during their battle with Edwards’ mistress Rielle Hunter over possession of the sex tape. But, Judge Eagles said the lawyer’s questioning may not include negative comments from the bench judges made about the Youngs.



Federal prosecutors have battled the defense to have both the comments and the contempt orders ruled out of bounds. As The ENQUIRER previously reported the contempt findings were in the civil court fight over the ownership of a video purportedly showing Edwards and his mistress Rielle Hunter having sex. Hunter sued the Youngs in 2010 to get the tape back.
The case was settled earlier this year and the tape was to be destroyed. Andrew Young remains key witness in Edwards' criminal trial scheduled to begin later this year. Edwards faces six felony and misdemeanor counts stemming from funds donated by 101 year old Listerine heiress Rachel “Bunny” Mellon and late Dallas money Fred Baron which Edwards allegedly used to help hide and house his then-pregnant mistress during his 2008
